The largest shipment ever sent by The Turing Trust, our partner charity, is one step closer to Malawi and due to arrive early July. The shipment contains 1,600 computers, 20 of which have been proudly funded by X4 Technology, through our March contributions.

These computers will support the education of thousands more students in Malawi, giving them access to a digitally-enabled education and helping The Turing Trust get closer to realising their vision of a world where everyone has access to a technology-enabled education.

Over the last few years, The Turing Trust have made tremendous progress, particularly in Malawi where they have increased the percentage of secondary schools with computer labs from just 2% to 32% by the end of 2019.

In other news, The Turing Trust have been accepted to be the first Growth Leader for the Raspberry Pi Foundation’s Code Club. Their first Code Club is underway, with 28 secondary school students signed up to the programme and so far, they have completed courses in SCRATCH, HTML and C++.

It’s an exciting time for The Turing Trust and at X4 Technology, we hope our future contributions will to help reach their goal of providing every secondary school in Malawi with adequate computing facilities by 2025, as well as provide teachers the opportunity to be trained.
