Python Software Developer – Commodities Trading

X4 Engineering are delighted to have partnered with a leading pioneer specialising in commodities trading within the Oil & Gas sector.

The organization are looking for an experienced Python Software Developer to join their innovative and fast-paced team. They’re looking for individuals who are passionate about technology and have a deep understanding of commodities trading.

As a Python Software Developer you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to build, improve and maintain commodities trading software using Python. You will also be expected to engage/collaborate with traders, analysts and key stakeholders in order to enhance the trading software for high performance functionality.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience as a Python Developer.
  • Familiarity with the oil & gas industry with hands-on experience in commodities trading.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using Python libraries (Pandas/NumPy).
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL – PostgreSQL preferable.
  • API development experience.
  • Knowledge of web scraping tools like Beautiful Soup and Selenium (desirable).

The role is hybrid with at least 3 days’ per week in the Houston office.
