This is a fantastic opportunity to join a prestigious trading desk at a fast-growing energy company. The company are committed to transitioning to renewable energy whilst committing to the energy demands of their customers. There is a new role for a Real-Time Trader to join them in Austin.

Power Trader – Responsibilities:

• Optimizing trading positions in day-ahead and real-time electricity markets to maximize value for renewable assets.
• Conducting market analysis to identify opportunities and improve gross margin.
• Developing tools and processes to support scalability.
• Assisting with asset onboarding and ISO documentation.
• Managing real-time market risks and opportunities during shift rotations.

Power Trader – Requirements:

• Experience or interest in short-term power trading and asset dispatch.
• Attention to detail with knowledge of ERCOT and NERC protocols.
• Strong communication and prioritization skills in high-pressure environments.
• Familiarity with ERCOT and renewable technologies (desirable).
• Knowledge of real-time power markets and regulatory engagement (desirable).
• Experience with Python, SQL, and risk management (desirable).

The role is based in downtown Austin with salary very dependent on experience, with a very generous discretionary bonus which is based on the P&L.
