Lead Auditor – Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Lead Auditor to conduct third-party audits following established procedures, relevant standards for the automotive industry. The role involves making critical decisions during the audit process, analyzing data to recommend certification, and managing audit teams. Ideal candidates will have experience with FSC, PEFC, and SFI certifications. The role requires extensive travel, approximately 80% utilization.
Lead Auditor – Key Responsibilities:
- Certification Management System: Master and apply the Certification Management System for auditing and follow-up activities. Work with Product Managers and the Accreditation Manager on system updates and implementation.
- Audit Execution: Conduct audits in accordance with established procedures, sector-specific schemes, and ISO17021 standards. Ensure audits meet expected outcomes and are performed efficiently.
- Team Management: Supervise and manage audit teams, ensuring effective planning and execution of audit activities.
- Certification Decisions: Evaluate audit evidence to determine whether certification should be granted or continued.
- Experience Development: Acquire comprehensive audit experience across various accredited activities to enhance your expertise.
- Training and Mentoring: Assist in the training and mentoring of other auditors and lead auditors during audits or training sessions.
- Witness Audits: Actively participate in witness audits conducted by the organization or accreditation bodies.
- Credential Maintenance: Maintain all necessary audit credentials.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related activities as directed.
Lead Auditor – Required Skills and Experience:
- Certifications: Completion of an IRCA registered “ISO management standard auditor course” or an ISO 19011 course on auditing techniques. Completion or willingness to complete a recognized FSC COC training course is required.
- Knowledge: Proficiency in nationally recognized Management System auditing standards and procedures.
- Qualifications: Academic background in a recognized scientific/technological discipline and quality assurance, with a minimum of five years of work experience, including two to three years in the relevant field.
- Travel: Ability to travel extensively (80% utilization), including holding a valid passport and driver’s license.
- Skills: Strong integrity, tact, and professionalism. Excellent communication, presentation, and computer skills.
- Experience: Minimum of five years recent, relevant industrial or business experience, with at least three years focused on the practical application of management system principles.
