Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Utilities/Power Control Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), with a specialized focus on microgrid systems. As a key player in our engineering team, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of advanced control systems for power generation, distribution, and management in the utilities sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize control systems for power generation and distribution in utility-scale projects.
- Develop, configure, and maintain Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to support critical power infrastructure.
- Design and implement solutions for microgrid systems, ensuring integration with existing energy networks and optimizing energy efficiency.
- Troubleshoot, test, and maintain control systems hardware and software for power plants, substations, and microgrid facilities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate renewable energy sources, battery storage, and other modern technologies into power control systems.
- Provide technical support during system commissioning, operation, and performance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards for control systems in utility settings.
- Analyze data from control systems and make recommendations for system enhancements and optimizations.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with DCS or PLC systems in utilities, power generation, or industrial environments.
- Strong background in microgrid design, integration, and optimization.
- Experience with energy management systems (EMS) and control algorithms.
- Familiarity with renewable energy systems, battery storage, and grid integration.
- Expertise in SCADA systems, HMI design, and communications protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, DNP3).
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to work across technical and non-technical teams.
- Knowledge of industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
