A leading company in the Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy sectors is seeking an experienced Project Manager with hands-on experience and a strong mechanical engineering background. This role involves overseeing the successful execution, coordination, and completion of projects, ensuring they align with company objectives and meet client specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, particularly in mechanical engineering, and experience managing offshore installations. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Development: Manage and guide Project Engineers and Managers, identify training needs, and ensure your team is equipped with the latest tools and processes.
- Project Execution & Coordination: Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget, while adhering to technical specifications and client requirements.
- Offshore Installation Oversight: Oversee offshore installation activities, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery in line with project objectives.
- Bid & Offer Preparation: Review and prepare project bids, ensuring they meet company standards and client expectations.
- Client Interaction: Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring progress is tracked, invoicing is on time, and concerns are addressed promptly.
- Engineering Oversight: Manage engineering deliverables and ensure resources are allocated effectively, meeting project deadlines and quality standards.
- Procurement & Fabrication: Work with teams to determine procurement and fabrication strategies, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to client specifications.
- Project Close-Out: Ensure efficient project close-out, review performance, and incorporate lessons learned into future projects.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, preferably in Oil & Gas, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Experience overseeing offshore installations is highly desirable.
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Strong technical knowledge of steel fabrication, welding processes (GTAW, SMAW, FCAW), and engineering standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, API).
- Proven ability to manage projects, lead teams, and work directly with clients.
